Gorgon

Euphorbia stenoclada nestled in a handmade vase found in a local thrift shop.  It is signed Sunny Bauer on the bottom.  Thank you Mr. Bauer for a very interesting vase.  The Art of Succulents team has transformed this vase into a pot and paired it with an equally interesting plant. E. stenoclada is commonly called Silver Thicket and originally comes from Madagascar. It is an interesting looking plant with thick, spiked leaves that branch out from the main stem.  New growth has a brown fuzz that falls off as it matures.  All Euphorbias have a toxic milky sap that extrudes when the plant is hurt.  It is advisable to keep this sap away from the mouth and eyes.  However, we handle Euphorbias by hand on a regular basis here at Art of Succulents.  They just require slightly more care.  Otherwise, water when the soil is dry and keep from freezing.  Follow those easy steps and you will have this plant for many years to come.
