Pachypodium succulentum is a slow-growing caudiciform succulent shrublet with a large half-submerged tuberous stem. This species is hard to find and normally fetches a high price whenever they can be found (usually at succulent shows/sales).  This plant is prized for its caudex (thickened trunk), whose shape varies greatly between plants.  This particular plant is the highly sought after white flower form.  Most plants of this species have crimson or pink flowers.  This one has white flowers with a scarlet midstripe.   Protect from frost.  It tends to lose its leaves and go dormant in winter.  It likes full sun to light shade.  Do not water when it is dormant (no leaves).  Water heavily during the summer for fastest growth.
