Seren
Seren is a relaxing, zenlike arrangement consisting of a Cissus tuberosa and Echeveria nobile. The Cissus is the larger plant with the woody trunk and the Echeveria is the smaller, rosette with fleshy leaves. C. tuberosa is a fantastic plant to keep. It belongs to the grape family of plants, though it never produces graces. It does, however, produce a caudex (thickened trunk, sometimes in the shape of a sphere) which sends out vines of elegant multilobed leaves. The vines can get up to 15 feet long! Although it is recommended that it be trimmed to a length that is more manageable. Keep in mind that whatever you cut off will also root and grow into another plant. The caudex gets thicker and bigger over the years. Collectors try to cultivate the largest caudex they can. This plant is deciduous and will drop the leaves off the vines in winter. It will resprout vines and leaves in the spring. E. nobile is a very rare and exquisite plant. It grows in a perfect rosette that consists of particularly wide and thick leaves. It gets more fetching as it gets larger. And eventually it will have pups sprout out from the base. Water this arrangement no more than once a week in the summer and less than once a month in the winter, especially if it is left out to soak up rain water. Succulents, as well as most other plants, really love rain water.
