Triping
Triping is a triple-headed Sansevieria pinguicula in a bonsai styled, oval pot. S. pinguicula is arguably the most interesting and sought after of all the Sansevierias. This plant grows differently than all the other members of its genus. Sansevierias normally reproduce by sending out rhizomes (runners, pups, etc) underground that sprout some distance from the mother plant. S. pinguicula sends out stolons (aerial stems) from the other plant that ends in a new rosette. This rosette can be clipped off and you can have a new plant. However, if it stays on the mother plant, it will send out thick roots that shoot toward the ground and resemble legs and seems to be walking away from the mother plant. That's why it is sometimes called the Walking Sansevieria. S. pinguicula is also one of the most unique looking Sansevierias with rosettes of thick, elongated leaves. This is a very slow-growing plant and therefore, quite pricey and sought after. However, it is also a very easy plant to keep. It is more rot tolerant than most succulents and can take more watering (many succulents can be harmed by overwatering). It grows well with heat but can take most climates above freezing.
